CABAR.asia
The Central Asian region has been shocked by the armed conflict between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. IWPR CA has published an address to a wide range of stakeholders with a call to keep to ethical standards and principles of bona fide journalism in these hard times.

The recurring theme of our analytical work has become the war in Ukraine, its consequences for the regional economy, as well as social and political, demographic, and security transformations that will have an impact on the region in the future.

Another relevant topic of analytical reports has become the subject of growing pressure on journalists and bloggers in Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.

Expert meetings
The IWPR in Central Asia held an expert offline meeting in Tajikistan on September 30 "Gender Equality Development in Tajikistan: Achievements and Challenges". The meeting participants were representatives of public and international organisations engaged in women's and girls' rights protection, activists of feminist movement in Tajikistan, journalists.

All female participants of the expert meeting shared the opinion that it was very difficult to promote gender equality issues in Tajikistan because the patriarchal society, which the country returned to after gaining independence, had no understanding of gender equality, including at the top level, according to female activists.
Tajikistan has no feminist movement at all. Every time we start talking about feminism we face much hate on social media and in real life.
